One thing they could do as a first measure is block Proxy based IP addresses and those IP addresses originating outside the target zones of GlobalMS. Yes this would be a constant WIP to gather and dissect every possible proxy IP address but it could stop a majority of non-GlobalMS zone based hacking coming from areas deemed at times by internet security analysts as non-friendly or untrustworthy almost immediately.
There is one thing I'm curious about as to why no gaming company or companies have thought of this... hiring a 3rd party legal team representing a joint union of MMO gaming companies to go after known hackers full time. I'm fairly certain this has never been considered, but just think of the power base that could be formed if companies like Blizzard, Nexon, Square-Enix, etc. all joined forces with a 3rd party legal group to go after hackers and the communities that sponsor them both in the US and abroad.
