And about the American revolution against the British, The United States of America would never have existed, if The United States of the Netherlands wouldn't have been so kind to give a loan of 5 million guilders (about 300 million current dollars) back in 1782 to mister John Adams and his friend George Washington (also, the first loan ever given to the United States of America, ever) to finance their independence war movement.
If you ever wonder why the American Settlers used Yankee when referring to themselves during their independence fight against the British during that time, it refers back to that defeat the British fleet suffered by Jan Kees the Devil in 1673...
