Euopean countries should be able to provide us more than enough data on immigration policies and how they impact economy, being as open as they are and having so many neighbors and easy traveling between country to country.
Now if you want to concern yourself with wasted money and resources that could better be used by our own people I'd focus on all the aid we send to other nations for issues we still have at home instead of on what we lose on our neighbors. I'm also curious what welfare programs you know of that are open to illegals because all the ones I'm aware of end in deportation when their lack of citizenship is identified.
At best, Illegal immigrants provide cheap labor for employers, so they could benefit from saving money at first, but at the same time it will put those that are here legally out of work or at least significantly lower their wages and spending power. Most people tend to ignore the fact that when the working class becomes poorer, their ability to spend declines and the business' ability to earn money from us declines.
Edit: I should be more add a little more to that statement. The average American usually pumps more of his or her money into the American economy and government, and with illegals out of the way they will earn more to pump money back in. However, illegals will work for less and as the above poster stated they will tend to not pump as much money back into the American economy and they will pay significantly less in taxes while benefiting more from social services than a standard American or Legal Immigrant.
And was it necessary to bring up foreign aid? It doesnt contradict anything I said, and it is simply another piece of bullpomegranate we cant afford. We need to abandon foreign aid just like we need to abandon paying illegal immigrants to break the law.
