They never did stack. Currently, if you only get 30% boss on one weapon only 1/2 of your hits is going to receive the bonus. They work separately and have separate bonuses, your damage range shown on a DB is not your true damage range at all. Things like % luk should stack but, I'm not sure if the % atk stacks for both weapons as a bonus as well as % damage.
In chaos patch, this no longer applies so yes you're free to do as you wish.
