I've always been fine listening to all kinds of genres since I was little, but I think the first genres that I really took a liking to were rock, metal, etc. I used to put some on (Those Music Choice channels so it was constant music) and go to sleep to it.
Around Junior High I bought an Anime/Manga/Other Japanese crap magazine and in it there was a page of Dir En Grey where they were wearing the look they had in their Saku music video. I thought, ''Oh man, these guys look awesome!'', started listening to their music and that's how I ended up discovering my favorite genre, J-Rock, and my favorite band of all time, Dir En Grey.
