You're taking it out of context by saying "because A said B to me, then X says that to Y on a regular basis" within the grounds of servicemen and servicewomen. Him calling you a peach is his getting frustrated over trying to tell you you're points of logic are flawed, without even considering that people act differently in different situations, locations, and environments. If two people are arguing, usually one side will accept when they are beaten and either learn from the debate, or it leads to a stalemate where one side refuses to give in. That side more often than not is viewed as the ignorant party due to their lack of maturity in a debate.

The whole point to this thread was how soldiers would act in a given scenario. They, as has been proven, will act for the greater good of their unit regardless of who is in it.
