I still don't see how DADT could be a step backwards. It only offers a CHOICE, gay people are already aware of the prejudice they suffer. A choice to revelate yourself or not without fearing losing your job (in the military, in this case) has no bad sides.
Besides, the less the regulations give way to prejudice the less people will treat the "different" badly. Having a regulation that singles out homosexuals only feeds the belief that they are not the same.
Anyway, I'll stop arguing here. From all of the posts I've seen from Jamie it's really pointless to argue. He/she doesn't seem to assimilate new knowledges about things and just clings to her own view of the world. Maybe I should add someone to me block list...
