Because sexuality is more personal to someone as sexuality can span anything including religion, culture, politics, sports team, etc. Sexuality is one of the most personal social statuses anyone can have or claim. You can be a hetero or homo sexual in any culture, language, religion, region, country, political field, sports team fan circle, etc.
It's a very serious social issues to deal with and often one of, if not, the most sensitive of issues at times. I mean seriously, what's more personal to someone than their sexual identification?
