Ahem, anyway.
While the design of the laptop is brilliant, stark naked and no branding on it, and I'm glad they took a page out of Apple's design book, I wouldn't be able to use it. Locked into the web just doesn't cut it for me. Webapps are not replacements for actual software.
Wanna listen music? Gotta stream. Video? Gotta stream, and lets remember that most, if not all(atleast 90%movie/audio streaming options are paid Edit some images? Oh, well, you could use one of those photo-editting webapps, but retouching stuff? Forget that. Bad connection/No 3G coverage when you're traveling? Well, that's too bad. Your Cr-48 just became a brick.
Easy solution is just boot Ubuntu on it. There's already a very very easy guide and if it's in developer mode the OS will take anything self-signed (it's a lot harder in release mode). Take an hour or so to do everything and bam, everything you just mentioned is fixed.
But yes, I completely agree with what you said. It doesn't cut it for me, either. That's why the first thing I did was check how to root it and get into the damn thing.
