I agree with the rest of your post. Apparently Flash is clunky, and for an OS centered around the web, that's a big problem.

Adobe's aware of the issue and is working on it, they've stated.

Also, caps lock is not missing from the OS, in settings, you can toggle the function of the search button as either Search or Caps lock.
