I don't think that's the problem. The problem is that the story drags out for too long. Not because they pack it with so much story, that wouldn't be the issue, but because it's the same story line that they extend unreasonably with stuff like "OH MAN, YOU THOUGHT I WAS P RANKED, BUT IF I TAKE A MAGIC MARKER AND DRAW ANOTHER LOOP AT THE BOTTOM, I BECOME B RANK! THAT'S RIGHT, I'M REALLY LETTER B!"
"WHAT, B RANK!?"
"OH GOD!"
"WHAT WILL WE DO NOW!?"
"OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY GODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD"
Making sure to stretch out the reactions to fit 6 pages and such, while also not adding much to the story, just making the fight longer.
