What? You think Japan's the only country with weird sh`it? Oh please. Apparently, you're not aware of our own culture's media. Ever seen SAW? It's not scary as it is just disgusting. American-Horror = blood. Japanese-Horror = demons, spirits, and what-not. There's a huge difference in how culture can impact practically everything, so I don't see why you would claim that Japan = weird. To your eyes, it's weird. But to a Japanese person's eye, I'm sure they think you're pretty weird too.
I once drank Vodka with snake-bile in it. It's pretty much a delicacy in Vietnam, but I did it anyways. I didn't think it's weird. Sh`it, I eat pig intestines all the time, etc etc etc. List goes on.
