total damage applies directly to your damage range. attack only applies to the watk you're wearing, not pots or bullets/stars. Additionally, rounding favors total damage even when you're not using attack pots.
if you have a lot of % stat in your other equips, a %stat in your weapon will not be as much additional damage as the other two, since it's additive. For example, if you already have 150% stat on your armor and then add a weapon with 9% more, your actual stat increase is 159/150 = 6%. where as you can't have total damage or attack in your armor so it's a straight out 9% increase.
I'd say
1. boss damage
2. total damage
3. attack
4. stat
but then again I haven't cubed my equips to oblivion yet, so I'm only going by what I've seen other people post. feel free to correct me if I'm wrong
