I've been doing this ever since the 2nd x2 event, during this patch, at OB4 to get a good training spot. Rather funny when people question me and don't know why I'm doing it.
Also you don't even need to CC or run away, just don't kill the weapon aliens and they'll despawn after a while. It's just easier to kill the ones that summon more then move on to other aliens while those ones are despawning.
