Since I don't DC with Windows Vista in KMS. I see KMS having DX10 library just for Vista/W7 
In-fact every MS was screwed up by the DC bug when Vista first appeared.

Nexon should just release a vista + win7 compatible maplestory and be done with it. It's retarded to have ms only work under XP: winXP is pineappleing 7 seven years old and has been replaced a long time ago since it's outdated.
Nexon are retarded, even with the compatibility mode, you'll still experience disconnect bug.
From what I've heard, it's with DirectX and not the kernel itself. I don't think Vista has DX9 since I'm still dcing in v.83 GMS server.
Here's something that you might want to do :
1) Gather a bunch of people on Nexon forums
2) Post up a thread
3) Whine, appeal, flame
