In this day and age there is virtually no way to protect yourself 100% when applications we run daily are often subject to exploits anyone can take advantage of to do things without our permission. The sasser worm was a perfect example of that. Before it was identified and patched there was virtually no way to stop it or prevent it because it was a gaping hole in security.
You can be keylogged, packet sniffed, rerouted, eavesdropped and any number of other things without any way to detect it, limited ways to prevent it and in many cases no way to even know if it's happened to you after the fact. Blanketly declaring it the end user's fault that they can't predict every single one of an infinite number of ways they can be compromised and defend themselves from them all, simultaneously, in perpetuity is the fallback of a company too craptastic to be bothered with cleaning up the fall out because actual customer service takes time and effort.
Well, if you go try to downlod some hacks or the 1337 Mesos Generator and get a keylogger...That is pretty much your fault for trying to use something you shouldn't be trying to use in the first place.
