PIC Vulnerability - Phoenix Wright - 2010-05-01 http://www.basilmarket.com/forum/1494031/1/Critical_PIC_Vulnerability.html# Ugggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh. PIC Vulnerability - kremechoko - 2010-05-01 Is it really that hard for Nexon to just expand the possibilities on characters on the PIN system? I knew the PIC system was a fail from the start. PIC Vulnerability - Locked - 2010-05-01 A keylog isn't generated like that, I know it's an example but it just doesn't add the same verification as it would if it was real. I'd rather him actually post the log. PIC Vulnerability - iamflip - 2010-05-01 ^ or have someone else try to do the same thing and post the results. Because of course... a theory can only become fact after repeated experiments show the same results. Until then, I really don't find this plausible. Also... this information was gathered from Basilmarket. Enough said. PIC Vulnerability - sinisterboy9 - 2010-05-01 Isn't releasing this information going to have a double-edge effect? If this is true, now that everyone knows keyloggers can obtain PIC information, many hackers would try to get their hands on one.. PIC Vulnerability - Eos - 2010-05-01 Every keylogger has different features and capabilities. PICs being vulnerible to ones that have the right features is no more a newsflash than the fact your ATM PIN is vulnerible to a spy cam focused on the pin pad. PIC Vulnerability - SunnySis - 2010-05-02 Well said, i think the thing this thread actually says is, nothing is bulletproof and don't let your gaurd down thinking that anything is gonna protect you 100% PIC Vulnerability - Coogi - 2010-05-02 Eosian Wrote:Every keylogger has different features and capabilities. This. People just don't know that it doesn't matter Nexon uses as a Pin number or whatever you wanna call it there's always a way for you to get keylogged...Even though it's that person's fault most of the time anyways... PIC Vulnerability - Eos - 2010-05-02 Coogi Wrote:Even though it's that person's fault most of the time anyways... Assigning blame is pointless, accusatory and unnecessary. Ultimately the only person to blame for a keylogger is the person who owns/creates/places the keylogger because they're the point of causality that makes anything else possible just like a rapist is ultimately the one responsible for rape, no matter how stupid the victim was or was not. In this day and age there is virtually no way to protect yourself 100% when applications we run daily are often subject to exploits anyone can take advantage of to do things without our permission. The sasser worm was a perfect example of that. Before it was identified and patched there was virtually no way to stop it or prevent it because it was a gaping hole in security. You can be keylogged, packet sniffed, rerouted, eavesdropped and any number of other things without any way to detect it, limited ways to prevent it and in many cases no way to even know if it's happened to you after the fact. Blanketly declaring it the end user's fault that they can't predict every single one of an infinite number of ways they can be compromised and defend themselves from them all, simultaneously, in perpetuity is the fallback of a company too craptastic to be bothered with cleaning up the fall out because actual customer service takes time and effort. PIC Vulnerability - Xiger - 2010-05-02 If there is no way to protect yourself 100%. How we safe from the internet...? PIC Vulnerability - Eos - 2010-05-02 You're not and never will be. Just like the rest of life. No matter what safeguards you have, no matter how secure you are, a car could lose control and plow through your living room and run you down and there's nothing you can do about it. A man can go postal in the middle of your grocery store and shoot you from behind before you even realize it's happening. You can't protect yourself from every scenario that could possibly occur. At some point you declare yourself as prepared as you can be and then you prepare to deal with the results of the stuff you couldn't prepare for. Fire safety being a perfect example - You don't drill for years on every possible way to avoid your home ever catching fire, you drill for what to do in the event it does, because there's too many situations beyond your control that can result in your house being on fire. Just as neighbor can make a stupid mistake and burn their house down while you sleep, catching yours on fire in the process, so too can someone elses mistake infect you with pretty much anything on the internet regardless of how well you protect yourself. Safety is a lie. PIC Vulnerability - byakugan - 2010-05-02 The cake is a lie... Srry, i had to say it ![]() Any way, what were we supposed to see through the link the threat started posted? When I click on it i get a Basil market picture and nothing more. Does that mean the thread was closed or SP is blocked? PIC Vulnerability - Eos - 2010-05-02 The thread was closed for being FUD. PIC Vulnerability - Coogi - 2010-05-02 Eosian Wrote:Assigning blame is pointless, accusatory and unnecessary. Well, if you go try to downlod some hacks or the 1337 Mesos Generator and get a keylogger...That is pretty much your fault for trying to use something you shouldn't be trying to use in the first place. PIC Vulnerability - Eos - 2010-05-02 That's an if at best. It also doesn't change the fact that someone put the trap there. Who's responsible for the rabbit dying, the rabbit for being hungry and trying to eat, or the hunter for leaving a baited trap? Blaming the dead bunny isn't going to stop the hunter from his next kill. |
