No matter what safeguards you have, no matter how secure you are, a car could lose control and plow through your living room and run you down and there's nothing you can do about it. A man can go postal in the middle of your grocery store and shoot you from behind before you even realize it's happening. You can't protect yourself from every scenario that could possibly occur. At some point you declare yourself as prepared as you can be and then you prepare to deal with the results of the stuff you couldn't prepare for. Fire safety being a perfect example - You don't drill for years on every possible way to avoid your home ever catching fire, you drill for what to do in the event it does, because there's too many situations beyond your control that can result in your house being on fire. Just as neighbor can make a stupid mistake and burn their house down while you sleep, catching yours on fire in the process, so too can someone elses mistake infect you with pretty much anything on the internet regardless of how well you protect yourself.
