MAJOR NEWS - Nintendo Launching 'Nintendo 3DS'

Now they can catch up to the PSP's awesome graphics. Too bad in terms of utilities, DS sucks. It can only do so much, PSP on the other hand:

-Emulators (illegal)

Because the games themselves aren't entertaining enough; so you need GBA, SNES, and Sega Saturn games on there.

-Music
-Videos

DS can do this, but it's not needed anyway since most PHONES do this now.

-Radio

Most cell phones do this, and you need to be somewhere with wifi. You'll most likely be using this at home. By the way, DS has this as well.

-Downloadable games directly from PS store

DS has downloadable games from the Nintendo store.

-Upgradable memory (memory card)

Everything on the DS is stored on game carts, so this isn't a pro against DS at all. Especially since the DSi has this feature too. By the way, flash carts run on memory cards, and DS games are small in size. Not only that, but micro SD cards aren't as expensive as that Duo shit the PSP uses. With a 4 gig micro SD card you can fit hundreds of pirated DS games, compared to 1 or 2 PSP game(s) on a 4gig memory stick. Not that it matters, because there aren't many PSP games worth pirating anyway...

-Graphics

Load times. If I go outside with my portable system, I don't want to wait 5 minutes to play my game. But I will acknowledge this as a plus anyway.

-Picture storage

DS has this.

-Customizable theme-GUI

DS has this. If you use a flash cart, you can modify the main menu however you want.


I have both a PSP and a DS, and my PSP pretty much collects dust on my shelf. Every now and then something nice may come out that I'll pirate for my PSP, but all in all the DS is better if you're just looking for games, and not a smart phone minus the phone.

Anyone have any idea how this works?
I would assume it's made such that the actual "screen" is far behind the 3-D lens such that when you look at the screen, it goes through the 3-D lens, hits the screen, and bounces back.

Going to second Rob's statement. If you were to look up PSP's game-library on Wikipedia, it is massive. I'm not sure if that includes all of Japanese-named games unreleased in America either. I don't think it includes that, I could be wrong, and it might be included. Haven't checked in a long time. The reason DS turns me off pretty fast is any time I go to game stores, I see games like "HANNAH MONTANA" or "PETS" for DS, and I just shudder at the thought. I do like the fact that DS games have nice replay value though, such as the MegaMan games, etc.

So then why don't you just research the good DS games before you enter the store? That shit is there for parents to get their kids. My local game stores don't even gave PSP titles in a good location. You know how much of a turnoff it is to look around the store, not find it, and have to ask where it is? Then you realize you didn't see it because the games are a on a small shelf next to the large section of used PS2 games on display.
