MAJOR NEWS - Nintendo Launching 'Nintendo 3DS' - FrozNlite - 2010-03-23 http://gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=118173 Site and Official Nintendo PDF Wrote:Nintendo Co., Ltd. (Minami-ward of Kyoto-city, President Satoru Iwata) will launch "Nintendo 3DS"(temp) during the fiscal year ending March 2011, on which games can be enjoyed with 3D effects without the need for any special glasses. MAJOR NEWS - Nintendo Launching 'Nintendo 3DS' - Khoi - 2010-03-23 Now they can catch up to the PSP's awesome graphics. Too bad in terms of utilities, DS sucks. It can only do so much, PSP on the other hand: -Emulators (illegal) -Music -Videos -Radio -Internet -Downloadable games directly from PS store -Upgradable memory (memory card) -Graphics -Picture storage -Customizable theme-GUI MAJOR NEWS - Nintendo Launching 'Nintendo 3DS' - Locked - 2010-03-23 Omni Wrote:Now they can catch up to the PSP's awesome graphics. MAJOR NEWS - Nintendo Launching 'Nintendo 3DS' - butterfλi - 2010-03-23 Comment from that page: "Pokemon Gen 5 confirmed to have 3DS exclusive features." Not sure if it's a rumor but it sounds pretty nice. MAJOR NEWS - Nintendo Launching 'Nintendo 3DS' - Rob - 2010-03-23 Locked Wrote:Shi`tty games too. Don't forget that. The gameline on a PSP is terrible. I'd like to have a word with you. PSP has a smaller but better quality game roster than the DS. MAJOR NEWS - Nintendo Launching 'Nintendo 3DS' - Khoi - 2010-03-23 PSP has mostly RPGs, which appeals to a lot of gamers. A lot is an understatement too. There are also shooters, there's so many of those, I won't even go into it. Adventure and Action games are rather plenty too, only downfall is PSP doesn't have Pokemon games, because Pokemon games are rather popular. Don't get me wrong, I love Nintendo. I own about 3 GameCubes, a couple N64's, and 1 SNES. All of these are purchased products too, and I do like Nintendo, but they're never up to my expectations. Let's be honest here, and I'm not going to argue with it further mostly because I dislike arguing about video games since I've done it for 5 or more years. Gets boring. The PSP's game roster isn't amazing, it has a few good games I'll admit, but compared to the kind of development parties that the DS gets it isn't that great. I think Sony should just ultimately step down of the handheld route and go back to it's home consoles. MAJOR NEWS - Nintendo Launching 'Nintendo 3DS' - y0y0y0y0shi0 - 2010-03-23 Anyone have any idea how this works? I would assume it's made such that the actual "screen" is far behind the 3-D lens such that when you look at the screen, it goes through the 3-D lens, hits the screen, and bounces back. MAJOR NEWS - Nintendo Launching 'Nintendo 3DS' - Devil - 2010-03-23 Finally! 2D Charizzard in 3D! ![]() Hmmm, I know Philips & LG are busy with 3D television technology without the need of uncomfortable 3D glasses, but seeing this technology to game handheld consoles is new for me! Interesting!
MAJOR NEWS - Nintendo Launching 'Nintendo 3DS' - Dusk - 2010-03-23 Omni Wrote:Now they can catch up to the PSP's awesome graphics. Too bad in terms of utilities, DS sucks. It can only do so much, PSP on the other hand: Sorry, after buying a DS I cannot play a handheld without a touchpad. DSi has a browser, though I'm not sure how well that works. Console/handheld browsers tend to suck anyway. Graphics don't mean pomegranate. The only thing the PSP has on the DS is the pictures/music/video storage, I'll give you that, though that's only worth one bullet point. MAJOR NEWS - Nintendo Launching 'Nintendo 3DS' - Rob - 2010-03-23 Clearly people don't know about what the PSP is capable of. After the PC, the PSP has the largest game library in existance. Prove me wrong. MAJOR NEWS - Nintendo Launching 'Nintendo 3DS' - Kabanaw - 2010-03-23 No GBA backwards compatability? If so MAJOR NEWS - Nintendo Launching 'Nintendo 3DS' - Corn - 2010-03-23 Rob Wrote: Clearly people don't know about what the PSP is capable of. A lot of them aren't that good, though. MAJOR NEWS - Nintendo Launching 'Nintendo 3DS' - Khoi - 2010-03-23 Rob Wrote: Clearly people don't know about what the PSP is capable of. Going to second Rob's statement. If you were to look up PSP's game-library on Wikipedia, it is massive. I'm not sure if that includes all of Japanese-named games unreleased in America either. I don't think it includes that, I could be wrong, and it might be included. Haven't checked in a long time. The reason DS turns me off pretty fast is any time I go to game stores, I see games like "HANNAH MONTANA" or "PETS" for DS, and I just shudder at the thought. I do like the fact that DS games have nice replay value though, such as the MegaMan games, etc. MAJOR NEWS - Nintendo Launching 'Nintendo 3DS' - Dusk - 2010-03-23 Rob Wrote: Clearly people don't know about what the PSP is capable of. The size of a game library depends on how easy/cheap it is to obtain a devkit and write games for the platform. What's your point? Pokemon in 3D w/ 3D graphics? ![]() Otherwise sounds cool. MAJOR NEWS - Nintendo Launching 'Nintendo 3DS' - zOrpheus - 2010-03-23 I was expecting a three/four screen portable to succeed the DS. Imagine a portable home theater, with tons of fold-able small screens! It can only do so much, PSP on the other hand: You realize the bolded were all added with the DSi right? Quote:Clearly people don't know about what the PSP is capable of. Sorry ladies, emulating other consoles doesn't count towards that consoles library. By wiki the psp has 708 titles on the list of PSP games. The DS has 1565 on its list. It can only do so much, PSP on the other hand: Because the games themselves aren't entertaining enough; so you need GBA, SNES, and Sega Saturn games on there. Omni Wrote:-Music DS can do this, but it's not needed anyway since most PHONES do this now. Omni Wrote:-Radio k Omni Wrote:-Internet Most cell phones do this, and you need to be somewhere with wifi. You'll most likely be using this at home. By the way, DS has this as well. Omni Wrote:-Downloadable games directly from PS store DS has downloadable games from the Nintendo store. Omni Wrote:-Upgradable memory (memory card) Everything on the DS is stored on game carts, so this isn't a pro against DS at all. Especially since the DSi has this feature too. By the way, flash carts run on memory cards, and DS games are small in size. Not only that, but micro SD cards aren't as expensive as that Duo shit the PSP uses. With a 4 gig micro SD card you can fit hundreds of pirated DS games, compared to 1 or 2 PSP game(s) on a 4gig memory stick. Not that it matters, because there aren't many PSP games worth pirating anyway... Omni Wrote:-Graphics Load times. If I go outside with my portable system, I don't want to wait 5 minutes to play my game. But I will acknowledge this as a plus anyway. Omni Wrote:-Picture storage DS has this. Omni Wrote:-Customizable theme-GUI DS has this. If you use a flash cart, you can modify the main menu however you want. I have both a PSP and a DS, and my PSP pretty much collects dust on my shelf. Every now and then something nice may come out that I'll pirate for my PSP, but all in all the DS is better if you're just looking for games, and not a smart phone minus the phone. y0y0y0y0shi0 Wrote:Anyone have any idea how this works? ![]() Replace the controller with a DS. You don't need glasses, you need a helmet! Omni Wrote:Going to second Rob's statement. If you were to look up PSP's game-library on Wikipedia, it is massive. That shit is there for parents to get their kids. My local game stores don't even gave PSP titles in a good location. You know how much of a turnoff it is to look around the store, not find it, and have to ask where it is? Then you realize you didn't see it because the games are a on a small shelf next to the large section of used PS2 games on display. |
