They're not even close to NLs, much less Sairs.
Heroes are still better at what they were best at before: tanking a pineappleton of damage, best DPS on 2-3 mobs (like in CWKPQ), above average 1v1 damage, good Rushers, easy as pomegranate to play.
Arans are a good melee DPS alternative. They still fall short of matching the DPS of most ranged classes without being much better equipped, but they've got a decent amount of HP and they have Stance.

That may be but for me Arans are definitely near the bottom of the list in terms of fun. It's a little more exciting to play than my Priest but that's really not saying much and it's a hell of a lot more tiring for my fingers.
