Neither is permanent with enough determination, in my opinion.
Tiger has still achieved being the best golf player at a certain point in the history, and I don't see how that is not being successful. As of right now, he's not successful in his love-life, but that shouldn't affect his golf unless he stops training as frequently as he does.
Though, everybody have mistakes, and there's no way to avoid that. For example, I suppose you guys over at America have been "propagandaed" into believing the recently martyred Kennedy and King were saints.
It was kind of astonishing to learn later on that they'd both been serial womanizers (oh wow, connections), and that Kennedy was a speed freak to boot. But really, by the time King's plagiarism emerged, I'd lost the ability to be surprised by the misdeeds of famous people.
