That should put it's damage at about equal, or even exceeding Energy Orb's DPS. If they removed the chain lightning effect Energy Orb would become AWESOME.I had a friend who was constantly telling me how awesome switching between DS and Orb was for big mobs. Orb, unlike Blast, can cover a pretty massive range. He even told me that it constantly hit skelegons on entirely different platforms. Anyway, he loved doing DS -> Orb -> DS to kill all the Skeles in front of him. He is 17x, though.
Energy Blast > Energy Orb for pure mob damage, but I can still see SOME use to it during bossing. Barrage + Orb should yield best results when SSJ2 is down. It's no reason for me to pick it up until late 17x though. Maybe even 18x. ~_~

Energy Orb is meant to replace Energy Blast in this respect. With the change in delays now though, this could have become irrelevant due to how slow Orb is on its own compared to the (old) action delay of Energy Blast, or even Dragon Strike's new delay. The changes from what I remember are that Blast's delay was removed, Dragon Strike's delay was lowered enough for it to be alternated with anything except the very fast skills (Flash Fist, Blast, Drain), and the same with Barrage. Orb, as far as I know, never had a delay. It's just slow as holy hell.
