Meanwhile when you're family hopping you're destabilizing everyone below you, who as you pointed out have no way of communicating with you, have no way of knowing who broke the chain, have no way of knowing how permanent it is and how no way of judging how long they'll be impacted if they don't in turn move to someone else.
You're correct about the levels of ignorance of the two cases, although people below do know who broke the chain since he'll be the new top, apparently. It is easier to work around with friends though, but not their messed-up chain of friends.

"But I'm in this family with my other friends, I do want to join you though."
"Well then he can come too."
"Hey, do you want to come over to this family with me? I boss with this guy a lot so the tele system would be cool, his family is big too."
"Sounds cool, but I have these friends with me here in this family."
????
Repeat.
It is a hassle however you look at it. When people family hop to teleport, they most often return to their rightful spot immediately after, which, in my own recognition, deserves to be deemed personally manipulative, but it cuts down the unnecessary amount of trouble/annoyance one goes through while not causing any detrimental effect. Either you have to really go out of your way to get your friends in your family or give up the ambition, it isn't going to be at all beneficial.
Guild is a different thing, though, you have this list with level to aid you in organizing family order, plus the humble size of the guild as well as its state of unity, as opposed to Buddy List which is a wide-spread network of complication.
Anyway, you did make your point clear about the tele abuse. Good thing is I don't family hop myself so I'm not seeing much of a penalty from this. It's just somewhat ridiculous to have to be aware of punishment when trying to socialize.
