Girls : At what age did you get your first period?

To all the guys going all "Ewww" about this thread, notice how the subject is addressed to girls. Why bother clicking if you're going to feel sick reading it? You don't wanna hear about menstruation but you sure as hell don't mind sticking your plantain/face in something that bleeds for a couple days each month. Grow up.

Anyways, I know what the average is. I just wanted to hear from girls themselves, not from statistics. It's also interesting hearing what their first thoughts were.
