13. Back then, I was afraid of using Tampons. They, literally, scared the pomegranate out of me - and not for the reason you're probably thinking of right now. My mom would always put the fear of TSS in my mind before I had gotten my first period.

I'm a guy but of the girls whose time of menarche I know, ages were 10, 10, 11, 12, 14. Wikipedia says the avg is 12.5, for what it's worth.

I think I was like 13, and it was weird because my whole little group of friends all got it at the same time. I guess it's true about girls who hang out for a long time have their periods at the same time? IDK. Oh yeah, I was sooo scared about TSS too and wouldn't use tampons until I was in grade 10. xD
