Correct me if I'm wrong, biology isn't my strongest point, but the black plague was a bacteria, Eventually, people with immunity who lived to pass offspring kept the population going with the immunity. AIDS is a virus so there is no certain immunity to it (aside from a few case studies). So AIDS has more potential to kill, longer.

And speaking of viruses, where's love for the H1N1? >:

It's a theoretical statement, saying that if the plague had never hit, and we never built up that immunity, what would happen now.
