This is a thread about the Bubonic plague

Ok... I have to say... If you take offense to a joke about an event that happened HUNDREDS and HUNDREDS of years before you were even concieved, you either have no brain, or you have servere mental issues... I mean, come on! Why care so much about something that happened in the past if you, yourself, will never have to worry about it in the future? That's like black people (or African American, if you want to be politically correct) taking major offense to all white people for slavery, which they didn't even experience, nor did the ones they hate against have anything to with it. It doesn't make sense!

I don't think a joke's relevance to today's world should impact how seriously we take it. Just because the Holocaust is more recent and there are still living Holocaust survivors doesn't mean it was any worse than the Bubonic Plague or slavery or whatever. Jokes are jokes. Some are in poor taste, and some aren't funny at all, but so long as you don't go intentionally stirring up hurt and pain in people's lives with them I think they're fine. Everything can be laughed at. People need to lighten up a little.
