Bowmasters:
-(Slightly) Better at 1v1
-Because of the old Marksmen stigma, Bowmasters are illogically preferred at bosses
-Can pin bosses that Marksmen cannot (Bodyguard A, Tengu, Anego, and 2nd form Pap)
Marksmen:
-(Slightly) Faster at training
-Can freeze in 3rd and 4th job (so less pot costs)
-Much greater mob control
-Much less expensive to make gear for
-Higher damage range (but still less DPS)
Really, I think your choice depends on how much of a damage whore you are. If you don't mind being weaker than the Bowmasters and not being able to solo Anego as well or Bodyguard A at all, then Marksmen will be a great all-around class. Snipe is cool too. Even Marksmen are better at soloing smaller bosses than most classes, though, because Puppet is one of the best skills in the game.
