Not intentionally necroposting or anything, nor starting to invoke a flame but being patriotic I really have to comment on this.
It's rather disheartening to see people really undermind the event that happened. The number of people killed is the tip of the ice burg. On that day America lost it's confidence, they lost their idea of control, and many lost family on that day.
Because of that one event, an event which the one responsible (Leader anyway) was never caught and presumed dead, had left our country is at a near state of a second depression. What that man did, how caniving and evil it was, was in fact a genious tactic. To the public initially it was "were going to kick some arab ass" that the two towers are just two buildings. What the public didn't realize was that George Bush, either retarded or settling a vendetta that his father never got the chance to finish spent everything we had and then some to back up America's bark. That my fellow southperrians is poor leadership skills. His pride of not being the President to screw up (he essentially did none the less) got ahead of the needs that needed to be addressed. Before 9/11 our country was in a good stable enviroment, florishing. Because of that one cotastrophe we were thrown into a war blindly where they endured and outlasted us.
I saw the mentioning of forcing democracy on Iraq and such and how that is wrong. To an extent I can agree from face value its wrong to force a government on another country. However we killed their leader, and wanted to break their sexist and barbaric government, by instituting our government. For the most part the balance does work. People argue politicians are evil, caniving and really don't want to do the country any good. I really can't agree with that, their opinions differe and once again, face value, their decision vs this decision is an obvious mistake. However a politician's idea is to weight out the lesser of the two evils and by his own judgement decide where to put their vote. Essentially it should be popular vote by the state but in some instances they know whats best.
People have lost faith in our government with conspiracies, irrational judging, and corrupted propaganda view. The freedom we have has become a double edged sword as they believe those freedoms allow them to be invincible. That individuality is an excuse of being disrespectful and ignorant to our leaders.
