I wont go into further details tho IMO it does look to be a side effect from releasing the hammer, and as modular said, they either announce it is a glitch or people abuse it.
Glitches are not plain black or plain white due to Nexon's hesitant and reluctant. One could argue that the Ewands were glitched and that bishops should be banned(it's a lighthearted statement, take it easy). Nexon didnt want to do that so they said "it is intended" while fixing issues.
MS after all is a donation service. You donate your money to them (in exchange for NX) to "obtain" premium features. They're a multi-billion dollars company because of customers. The excuse that Nexon cannot handle the massive amount of players are ignorance, intolerance and narrow-minded. Why? Nexon has repeatedly opted for solutions that are most beneficial to their pocket at the cost of suffering players. Any half decent mind saw what needed to be done, and suggestions were raised, however, full pocket comes first. Their "cashshop doesnt affect gameplay" motto got shattered long ago in order to fill up their pocket. Simply put, they should be alot better. Nexon has shown that it's possible financially due to geneousity from players. This is not the framework of a multi-billion dollars company.
"Technically" the MTS was created so that even credit-cardless players can still obtain NX. "Technically" the "Cash Shop will not affect gameplay" is still a valid statement, because "technically" you can sell in game items for NX, and then use said NX in the cash shop. So "technically" everything in MS "can" still be "free".
Edit:
@GM Scrolls
Since they are so potent, why wouldn't they simply remove them from the game? I mean since GMs have control over them, I don't see why giving them out is such a big deal? I mean sure, they are extremely potent, but as long as they aren't giving out like 100 of every type to 1 player, it shouldnt be too big a deal? I mean to what extent do you mean by "mass creating"? I would think if they did anything from 7 to 21 it shouldnt be that bad? I mean 3 perfect weapons? Sell 2 and keep 1 and be set for life?
