An undiscussed aspect of Hammer + HT Pendant - MasPan - 2009-08-05 Maybe Nexon blocked egging with 2 or less slots left to prevent 5 egg pendants. They may have intended to release the hammer from the beginning, and blocked 3 egg specifically to prevent having 82 stat pendants. Just a thought, ya know? Thought it'd spark some interesting debate. Don't flame though... An undiscussed aspect of Hammer + HT Pendant - Greg22 - 2009-08-05 I was thinking the same thing after hammer+HTP was confirmed, but it just doesn't look right, if you know what I'm saying. You're repeating the same quest three times to use an egg on what the game thinks is a slot that you've never scrolled on before, but Nexon is infamous for their laziness, and this may just be another example. An undiscussed aspect of Hammer + HT Pendant - Kabanaw - 2009-08-05 I don't think this warrants a new thread about it. But still, this isn't the first time Nexon did something like this. I don't think they realized this could be done with hammers, and now people say it was intended. Others say Nexon did this to make more money, but these are the same people that say Ele Weapons had no reduction to increase money spent on Gaching. Considering a good chunk of people here almost immediately thought to 3egg pendants when we saw hammer info, I'd find it difficult to believe Nexon didn't consider the possibility. An undiscussed aspect of Hammer + HT Pendant - Dusk - 2009-08-05 Nexon has no pineappleing clue what they're doing. There is no way they intended for this to be possible. Even JMS, which famously does allow 3 egging, makes it happen in a way that isn't completely retarded (you have to egg when it's at 3 or more slots; an attempt to Chaos it ruins a chance to Egg). As with the Ele Wands, the only thing we know is that this is how they're going to work until they come out and change it. I don't buy that Nexon actually thinks carefully about what will entice people to Gach and spend NX. Quite honestly, I didnt even get the slightest idea to do this. I didnt realize it could be done til I saw a yellow mega with a link. I think they could have overlooked it. I think people give Nexon too much hate and not enough credit. Since they took over for Wizet, we receieved atleast double the expansions/new content released, and in the same amount of time. They are a multi-billion dollar company, cut them some slack. The fact that they are a multi billion dollar corporation means they should be more attentive to their game design and the needs of their customers. In a perfect world, I suppose.

See. Its these remarks that are slightly irritating. So the +3 necklaces were probably an overthought, but its still their game. Maybe they intended to see what it did before they made their decision? You (people who give Nexon grief, not FluffyFoxxie specifically) don't work for them, You do not know whether it is intentional or not. You should be happy that they even provide the game. They're probably checking to see the effects it has on the game. If the game was still Wizet based, we probably wouldn't even have 4th job. Relative to other companies, Nexon does a great job. Lets look at Dell? They support their computers for 12 months. Your computer crashes? They rely on the fact that you didn't read the liscence agreement and tell you to call customer service at Microsoft even though you didn't buy from Microsoft at all. After 21 days, they say "Call Microsoft". Thats like buying a used car that has no manufacturer warranty, and your dealer saying "Call Chevy"... But either way. Sure the GMs are slow to respond to tickets, but when things like this come up, they get flooded with emails. With a 3 million customer base, how do you expect them to get back to you so fast? Most companies have teams of 8-10 email agents, who suddenly get swamped, and then they're working overtime to answer the exact same email, over and over. They could just close MS all together, and then EVERYONE freaks out. I love how these people make it Lose/Lose for Nexon. Its these remarks that are slightly irritating. 4th job is nice, but there are several aspects of it I would rather us not have, mostly related to mage ultimates. But I'm not going to delve into that argument here. Both companies have done both good and bad things for the game. I'm thankful the game is up and running though, which is enough for me. Why do you think that if the degree of the situation changes they for some reason switch from tickets to emails? Well gee lets look at common sense for this one. If they're getting "millions" of "emails" a day, you would think they'd release a statement about the issue. But no, this is nexon, the company you're giving too much credit to. StringStrider Wrote:They could just close MS all together, and then EVERYONE freaks out. And why would you even suggest that they could just close MS all together.. if they did that, then they'd probably go bankrupt. dam your fast typing takebacker -_-- An undiscussed aspect of Hammer + HT Pendant - FluffyFoxxie - 2009-08-05 StringStrider Wrote:See. Its these remarks that are slightly irritating. And I love how people like you pretend nexon can do whatever the pineapple they want because it's their game, regardless of the amount of profit they make. Just because they run the game doesn't mean they have absolutely no obligation to their customers. A good example is the ele wands, they ignored the issue for a year, and then without warning, alter them. I was all for changing the ele wands, but it was something that should have been fixed within the first week, not a year later. They made no effort to communicate with their player base at all. How is it that a game that makes considerably less money, WoW, has so much better customer support? Don't say it's because they're pay to play, we all know nexon makes more than WoW does. The difference being, nexon doesn't feel OBLIGATED to give a pomegranate because they AREN'T pay to play. They think they can just brush us aside, with the mindset, "who cares if a dedicated mapler quits, we get customers every day." What would you do if there were 2 identical hospitals, one of which was private owned and one of which was government funded and obligated to give out free health care to those in need, wouldn't you be a little pissed off that the private hospital gave good, prompt, professional service, while the other one tells you, "pineapple off, that's not a big bullet hole anyways." An undiscussed aspect of Hammer + HT Pendant - Amnesia - 2009-08-05 No, that means they actaully want you to buy NX in order to scroll your HTP. Actually you (as a people) agreed to that in the ToS. Nexon reserves the right to edit the game or ToS at any time with or without notice to the customer. Eh, with regards to bugs they get about the same amount of Blue Posts as we do on the forums, WoW just has more cust service lackies than Nexon. Im sure Nexon > WoW. But Im also sure Blizzard > Nexon. In case you were curious how much gold.... err.. money vivendi games managed to make last year, you'll be happy to know that they produced a revenue of €1 Billion. €1.000.000.000, about $1.48 bln. A staggering amount. And 80% of that is from Blizzard's division, mainly World of Warcraft. Not surprising when there are 10 million subscribers worldwide, each paying an average of €10 per month. http://rrvs.blogspot.com/2008/01/blizzards-revenue.html Top 100 Game Companies of 07 (Couldnt find an 09 version) http://www.develop100.com/ Found in this article http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/gamesblog/2007/apr/10/top100gamesc Blizz is #1, Nexon is #19 And incase you didnt know, Activision bought out Blizzard. They think they can just brush us aside, with the mindset, "who cares if a dedicated mapler quits, we get customers every day." I understand that people get frustrated with companies because the service seems slow, but until we have someone who has worked for Nexon specifically tell us internal procedures, we will never be privy to why it takes them so long. People just assume they don't care. If they didn't care, they wouldn't have a support tab on their page. Technically they could put in the ToS a "Take it or leave it clause", and basically state that youre SoL if you don't like the service. Any service > No service at all. True enough. But as takebacker said to my post, comparing a game to a hospital isnt a good arguement @Takebacker: I used Email and ticket ambiguously... I shouldve used ticket the whole time, but I didnt. An undiscussed aspect of Hammer + HT Pendant - Eos - 2009-08-05 StringStrider Wrote:I think people give Nexon too much hate and not enough credit. StringStrider Wrote:If the game was still Wizet based, we probably wouldn't even have 4th job. Q. How did Nexon America begin and what exactly is Wizet’s relationship to Nexon? What is Wizet’s current status? A. Nexon America is Nexon Corporation’s North American publishing and game service arm. We started with the localization of MapleStory for North America, and have grown to support multiple game launches in North America. Wizet is the developer of MapleStory and also a subsidiary of Nexon Corporation. The Wizet team continues to develop and add content to MapleStory around the world. An undiscussed aspect of Hammer + HT Pendant - KhainiWest - 2009-08-05 Just for clarification all updates are done by wizet Nexon is just a parent company that deals with customers/buissiness. I want you all to think about it this way, Wizet is in every version of maplestory. However Nexon America, Asiasoft and Nexon North korea(or south whatever) are all seperate parent companies. Also consider that the eastern maplestories have a much larger income which is why they have permanent nx. Why? They sell everything from paper plates to shose for maplestory. None the less to the point. Worse scenario that will happen (either or, I'll list the more morbid as well) Either nexon will change them back to normal making a lot of players cry or either allow them to keep the pendents(or option one) and ban everyone for two weeks who has a 52 stat pendent as a glitcher forcing you to eat the ban or drop it after the notice. I would invest 20$ into hammering a pendent, but not 1.2bil into buying one thats for sure. Time will tell right now both MoN and Ht pendent are about equal. It will most likely not be dealt with for another patch. They are swamped in tickets for the auto ban atm I assure you. Eos that's not fair mine was more elaborate

See above. An undiscussed aspect of Hammer + HT Pendant - LaughingThesaurus - 2009-08-05 Every company's going to be after cash, but unless you're absolutely required to pay to get into it, I don't think you have a damn right to complain. You don't have to touch the cash shop, or even the game client itself. You didn't pay for it, you aren't paying for it, so you aren't particularly obligated to get stellar service. I know it sucks, but it's the truth. If a company were guaranteed to get a ton of money from millions of players every month, I'm sure they'd care a lot more about customer service. Not to say Nexon is completely justified in essentially ignoring people, but unless they're guaranteed to get your money, they don't have a reason to care. It's not like the world is full of benevolent saints that're going to always be there for everybody. This is a great point. However, we have sadly experienced that this issue happened before: Remember when Bigfoot got its damage-boost increased again, after a patch? Nexon stated they would fix this through a server check. What a lot of people here guessed was that they would nerf through having the server lower the damage reduced, and thus apply the hack-check which would ban them straightly afterwards. This actually happened, even though we thought of this right after the SC-announcement. So while it's a good point, it does not guarantee that Nexon considers this as the actual idea of VH on a HTP. For my case, I'll think I compare this with the icepoles melting: We can't confirm it 100%, but it's always better to be safe than sorry. Before Nexon states that this is intended or not (if they do, that is), this could be a glitch or work as intended. However, in order to avoid any losses, I would suggest not buying nor scrolling HTPs with this until we have got some clarifications. I personally think that a single little bug in Maplestory is backburner considering they have like ???5??? (MS, Mab, SR, CA, Aud) games and are currently working on a beta game (Dungeon Runner or Fighter or something) Their oldest free game is most likely last priority right now. And as MasPan stated, they probably did it this way so you could have +3 necklaces (like in the other versions) and not +5 ones. They probably wanted to release a Hammerlike item for a long time, and figured this would be the easy way around it. Then again they could have made the pendants 1 slot from the getgo, but I heard (unfortunately dont remember where) that there are 2 other items you get for the last 2 slots that add other stats *shrug* Either way... Edit: @DS Thats what I am doing. |
