Let me make sure I got this right.
Black: + or - 1/2/3 of hp/mp/def/mdef/acc/avoid/speed/jump
Dark: + or - 2/3/5 of int/str/luk/dex

And the stats already have to be there, huh? Well, when you put up several jewels when forging an item, does it apply the affects one at a time after the item is created, or does it just add the stats all at once?
I guess it also comes down to: does the "random" affect get decided before or after the crystal's turn to be applied? I'm hoping Isaac or another kms player would know.
If it turns out the crystals are applied in order of what jewel slot they're dropped into, it could be that people could put a desired stat first - so that it gets added to the item before the black/dark crystal - and then a crystal with a random affect, hoping to get a raise in that stat. I.E. More than 5 str on a glove for thieves, etc. (Which normally have no str, and 5 is the highest you can get from a stat crystal.)
