urgh, best to not combine 高with your mum's name.

Coz when u put it in front, it becomes the adjective "tall" hence "tall laura"
tho thats a pretty good chinese name (tian yu) - almost phonetically similar to your english name and it has less strokes XD

Also, 母 and 媽 both refer to mum. First is more formal like Mother (母親Wink, latter is more casual ie mum, mummy (媽媽, 媽咪Wink
