Of course it's gonna look very red visualized on the map because of rural areas but single cities that are just tiny dots on the map have millions of people living in them.
On the other hand, those democrats that say the election wasn't fair are wrong as well. The election was completely fair within the current rules that the US election has. Not suprised to see all those protests though. If Trump had lost despite winning popular vote, Trump voters would've been the first to call the election rigged and went to the streets with their guns and trump hats.
If the popular vote was the sole decider in each election then population dense cities would be the only part of the entire country that would have any true representation. California, New York, and a few others would be among the few states that would get representation. With the electoral college in place every state gets some guaranteed representation. Trump managed to get parts of the Rust Belt that haven't voted Red in close to thirty years and the swing they gave helped decide this election.
