That ain't it, for me at least since I am either not at that age yet (which is totally possible, I promised myself I would never grow up) or because it is impossible for whoever the President is to ever effect me.
For me personally I think it is more the internet ruining another thing by giving everyone a voice to talk with. That and this is the first election that is spilling over into my purposely limited sphere of the internet.
Though those links you posted were top tier. Nothing can make light of the current state of the world better than the insanity of the past.

Consider it would've been 8 years ago that the last real opportunity for this sort of zaniness came up and compare that to your age before making the determination as to why this is the first time you've really noticed it.
