The entablishment will put the blame on Bernie voters somehow, I guarantee it.To be fair though, the polls also basically said Clinton was going to win. ultimately the question boils down to: where did it go wrong? did Trump overperform and disadvantages in the polls were largely because of question bias? (this would seem to be my guess, tbh.) or did Clinton underperform due a sort of Brexit mentality or because she took her Rust Belt safeties for granted and didn't campaign there enough? did Comey's last minute smoke-blow on the emails truly make a notable impact? it did in most polling models, so perhaps it shifted others in general as well.
it's hard to say whether or not Bernie would've won simply because the polls were consistently wrong about Trump to begin with. i do think Bernie perhaps would've stood a better chance, given his higher favorability among white men (classic) and in the Rust Belt area that Clinton ultimately lost, but then again, what would the campaign have looked like? would Americans really be ready for a self-avowed democratic socialist Jew? and i mean, Trump's ads already had elements of anti-Semitism playing into the usual "it's the Evil Jews behind it All," what kind of ammo would he have with that double threat of socialist and Jew?
tbh i just don't think there's any way to play what ifs with this election.
