What if they broke the mold and-
Had class gloves as their primary "weapon/stat adder" and common class equips as their secondary?
I dunno how good or bad that would affect them but if INT was primary and Matt was too- then they would not be too bad off.

Maybe include more elements to all jobs-
Like the holy blast or an upgraded poison move for 2nd/3rd job.

Also I'd argue for a new system of Accuracy that was based solely on LUK that way statless builds would be really tough.
