umbreon can use an attacking set, via curse/rest/st/payback but it's a little hard to pull off. sylveon can pass 101 HP wishes (lv50) like umbreon, and has potential for a boosting set. any kind of boosting set also has the option of baton passing which can help other pokemon on the team who need calm mind/curse/wishes/substitutes.

umbreon in my opinion has seen more usage because of its reliable bulk + synchronize, and the fact that steel types no longer resist its dark STAB moves. the umbreon i have come across just mainly try to toxic stall me

OT: i'm having trouble with scizor, forcing me to paralyze it and make mawile/azumarill come in and start smacking it. if i do not paralyze it, mawile will fail her sucker punches as mine is invested only in HP/attack (base 50 vs 65..) and it can also boost on me, making me feel forced to taunt almost every one of them.
