Team building thread

I have two separate teams planned at the moment, one "UU" team and one "OU" team. Of course, tiers haven't actually been set yet but I wanted to have a bit more variety. I'll post the OU team later since I'm still figuring it out.

Due to Contrary, Malamar can boost while spamming Superpower. Malamar can boost with King's Shield and Sticky Web (should it switch out) and Malamar can negate boosting Pokemon using Topsy Turvy. Night Slash and Psycho Cut help provide perfect neutral coverage (considering Foul Play for Night Slash against physical sweepers/tanks). Metronome helps boost Superpower's damage as Malamar boosts.


Donatella, the Furfrou

Meet the Pokemon you love to hate. Fur Coat halves all physical damage, making it a great wall. While its moveset is rather lackluster, boosting up with Cotton Guard makes for a frustrating time fainting Furfrou should you lack a physical attacker at the time. Return/Sucker Punch hits most Pokemon neutrally, except for Pokemon I won't be using Furfrou against online (namely Tyranitar, Lucario, Cobalion, and Terrakion. Klefki and Carbink too, but those aren't gonna be attacking well). First Rest (may be) free.


G.U.Y., the Blastoise

I had to have a Mega somewhere. Mega Blastoise makes for a great spinner, one that's bulky and can dish out deadly hits. Mega Launcher boosts all three of these moves, and a STAB Water Pulse isn't fun, especially if you get confused.

 If I opt to not use a Mega evolution, this would be replaced by:

Delphox is quite the fox. Running Assault Vest on her because I didn't know where else to put it, and Delphox appreciates the added bulk. Psyshock is there to hit special walls where the sun don't shine, and adding Fire/Grass is resisted by only a handful of Pokemon.

Perhaps the only Pokemon to break my "UU" rule, and only because I wanted to find a place for it. Talonflame is a fast sweeper, if a bit frail. Its goal is to do as much damage as possible before fainting. Roost is added to the build to increase longevity, and because you can't not when it's a priority move.

Ah, Aurorus. This beautiful dino is sadly quite weak to our wealth of Fighting- and Steel-type moves, but packs a punch on its own. Refrigerate turns Hyper Beam into an even bigger monster than it is, boosting 1.3x (equivalent to a Life Orb boost) and giving it an Ice typing. AncientPower is there because Aurorus doesn't have a big moveset with any other Rock special moves, Freeze-Dry hits Water types where it hurts, Roar (hopefully) scares off big threats and Substitute helps longevity if using Hyper Beam.

Yes, I used Smogon for these. I'm not embarrassed.
