Her Purugly and Grumpig annoyed the pineapple out of me. 2 of the pokemon I hate the most (I really do) and they just happened to hit like a truck. Purugly had Shadow Ball which it wasn't even capable of learning in 5th Gen. Her Wigglytuff tanked my full power STAB return with a normal gem, and then used Focus Blast in retaliation, fainting my Greninja in one shot.Gonna continue this discussion in this thread rather than the other one, thanks Malthe.
Was using:
Greninja
Ability: Protean
Item: Normal Gem
Attacks: U-Turn, Acrobatics, Return, Power-Up Punch
Stats: 31 IV's in Attack. Attack and Speed fully EV trained.
How it worked: First turn STAB fully powered Return with a Normal Gem, second turn takes advantage of no longer holding an item by using a STAB Acrobatics. STAB U-Turn if it's a pokemon I can't deal with. STAB Power-up punch for Rock or Steel types, or to finish off a pokemon to get a nice attack boost.
Spooks (Gourgeist)
Ability: Pick Up (useless)
Item: Leftovers
Attacks: Phantom Force, Shadow Sneak, Seed Bomb, Leech Seed
Stats: around 30 IV's in Attack. Attack and Defense fully EV trained. (Also a Super Size Gourgeist, meaning it has higher Attack, HP and Defense, but has lower speed)
How it worked: Phantom Force is good for stalling, and hits really hard. Being unhittable for a turn while my Leftovers and Leech Seed go to work is really cool. Shadow Sneak to finish stuff off, Seed Bomb for brute force, Leech Seed for stalling, healing and taking down tanky pokemon.
Hypnotoed (Politoed)
Ability: Water Absorb
Item: Expert Belt (Would gladly change this out for something else, but i'm not sure what)
Attacks: Ice Beam, Psychic, Hyper Voice, Surf
Stats: 31 IV's in Attack and Sp. Attack, EV trained for Sp. Attack and Speed.
How it worked: Pretty simple really. Just a bunch of high power Special attacks for some type coverage.
What do you guys think? is this a good team? I think it needs working on.
MasPan Wrote:You've got 2 water types, which probably hurts you overall for coverage, but Politoed is pretty awesome. I'd replace him as your special sweeper for something with entirely different weaknesses from Greninja, possibly a fire or dragon type. You're definitely lacking for ground, fighting, or fire offensive capabilities (Greninja has PuP, but low base power limits it as a sweeping option).Greninja technically isn't a Water type. It's either Normal, Fighting, Bug or Flying depending on which move I use. And since it is a very fast pokemon, it usually goes first. So it's very rarely Water/Dark.
I'm thinking of building a Mega Medicham, Mega Blaziken, Mega Gardevoir, Mega Mawile or Mega Aggron, but i'm not sure which one would fit my team the best.
