You HAD to do him to continue online, period. You didn't have to do Royal Ludroth.

I tank the rolls no problem, but I can usually avoid them since I usually don't get too greedy with the hits anyway since using a greatsword you really don't have much time to attack too much unless the target is trapped or something. I usually attack about 1~3 times then dodge away > sheath > run away if needed > close back in and swing another 1~3 times. If I'm able to I'll charge 1~3 times before getting a hit out on the target. I don't like being in front of him since he'll either shoot his spit at me, chomp me or swipe me with his teeny arms.Anywhere near his mane is fine, really, because of how he rolls, but I guess since I tend to Hammer him I find it best to stick to his head directly. If I don't use Hammer I go SnS or Bow, and Bow is obviously not going to have any issue with him at all, and SnS I stick at the tail for the cut and trips on the hind legs.
Overall I've never found him to be hard, but I also started with Freedom 2 so I had some experience by the time he was released...
Secun Wrote:Polantaris; What was changed about Barroth between Tri and 3U is that his health was reduced and he was indeed made a bit slower. His AI was also somewhat dumbed down from what I can tell by first-hand experience.I noticed that he rarely uses mud-based attacks now, for sure, so in that regard I think you're right. As for him being slower, you're probably right there but I have no intention of ever touching Tri again and he isn't slower from P3rd that I remember. His health is reduced, but that's the same for everything. The majority of people that had issues with him would still be unable to beat him if his health being lowered was the only change. They definitely made him overall weaker, but I think it was because of Jade Barroth being added (Jade was in P3rd too), and Jade is more like the original Barroth in terms of speed.
