A way to not get hacked?
#21
Dark Link Wrote:Topic talks about it being used for keylog purposes, which is why deleting it will help you.

No, topic assumes this is the keylogger's logfile, which contains your password, and was likely already sent to the hackers.
It's not the keylogger itself, which will just record your password again, or your new password if you change it. The original form of this method, that I saw on Nexon forums and I believe was also posted on Basil, spoke of changing your password using the Windows on-screen keyboard so as to never type it. Seems a bit extreme.
I don't see any instructions on finding and removing the keylogger itself, and many people who got hacked report having scanned their computers with various tools and finding them squeaky clean.

A way to check if this theory of the keylogger files has any validity: if you find those suspicious files in your TEMP, delete them, change your password (normally, with keyboard) and log into the game (again, normally). If the files don't reappear, it means you have no keylogger and those files you deleted were created by something else. If they do reappear, start worrying.

Copy/paste passwords then?

how deleting a temp folder will help with these case? unless they are somehow intercepting the etracer logs when its being sent to nexon/anhlab, then decrypting it and somehow etracer send your ID/pass/pic in its log, or they are somehow getting into your computer, and stealing that info stored in said logs (it if the info IS stored in the logs) otherwise that's just BS.

Ok. Shameful BS thread can now die. Hope everyone learned a valuable lesson about repeating unsubstantiated FUD rumors and linking to inappropriate sites.
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.
