Will gach, cubes etc. soon become illegal?

As a person who ran Zakum years ago before 4th job was out, I disagree. Just remove the boss timers and make bosses REAL bosses again. That run was 30 people and 4hr30min, with 7 survivors. 80% of 3rd body was taken out with ME. That's a real fight, screw these 5 minute speedruns, I want 1 hour to be speedrun time for 30 people again ;_;

Try doing that without potentials.

Adjust the boss as if we never had Potential and you're on.

I don't know why you guys keep saying certain bosses would be impossible when they were intentionally designed with the system in mind. If the system never existed, then the bosses would be designed as if we never had it in the first place.

You can't have one without the other.

If we follow the underlining logic of the topic post, then even paying money for online games is useless and stupid, because your paying real money in reality, to purchase fake items in a virtual world.

That was my -entire- point, lol. Without potential that would be absolutely absurd to even consider. And that's the way it should be.

I'd rather the boss battles be changed to be more like the bosses from retro games like Castlevania and The Legend of Zelda. To hell with all of these full screen nukes and unavoidable status effects! Screw the irritating Super Defense buffs! Do something creative, like giving bosses powerful moves that can be dodged by certain movement skills, movement paths that require the players to cycle about the room, moving platforms that can give advantages to ranged players who can jump around properly, or harmful terrains that the boss can knock players into. There all sorts of ways the bosses could be made challenging without forcing players to throw all of their money away.

MS doesn't have collision detection good enough for that, sadly...I would love something like that, but at this point any "skill based" this game ever had even a tiny bit of is long since gone. They would need to restructure the entire game and the way it works for something like that to be doable. But we can wish.

That's how MapleStory, or any other side-scrolling MMORPG, bossing should be. However, being creative is hard and we all know that all Nexon cares about is making money the easiest way they can find.

You're not paying for the items, you're paying for entertainment.
It's no different than buying a ticket to a movie, opera, amusement park, or ball-game. You pay real money, you're entertained (or not) for a duration, and in the end you have nothing tangible in hand.

On the other hand, casinos are free to enter...

I would think CWK, actual and JQ, would be enough proof to the inaccuracy of your stance.
Some of the things implemented there were considered impossible too, until the did them.
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.

The JQs do generally have decent hit detect, that's true. I'm not sure then; I've always considered area dodging and stuff like that to be more of a 3D game setup, though thinking back LaTale had bosses that required area dodge and doing things like flipping switches et cetera during the boss fights. Though it also had 4 person party as max if I recall...

The problem with is the characters/servers aren't 100% accurately synched, so although it works for jump quests because they are more of a solo thing, I would thing it be an annoyance for a boss as players would be on different "rhythm's".

yes please, if there is something i'm good at is retro bosses. I hez proudly beat every side scrolling megaman, metroid and castlevania game. would be extra awesome with a DS or Mercedes.

even old school teleporting dracula with triple fireballs would be epic in maple, about the hit detection thing, don't pixies in orbis fire balls that if you duck, jump, avoid them don't hit you? so why is a boss any different, just make its movement match maple. you can fight crow without getting hit.

either way, I don't care much about what happens with the potential system.

just give me some more pqs and bosses for 100-200 and a flying zone above ludi and i'll be happy.

Haha, yeah those pixies were awesome, having to duck or jumpshoot if you didn't want to lose tons of meso on pots. I think VPQ, when it first came out, was another good example of making boss fights more interesting. Don't hit the bombs, don't revive if you're the last one left, don't hit when damage-heal-w/e was on, etc.

You have no idea what you're talking about. The only boss that might MIGHT be impossible is Empress.

Anyway. Is GMS the only version with the Super Gachapon Reward item deal?

CHT and Von Leon might be problematic as well without potential.
Plus czak and pb.

Not taking what you're saying seriously.
