If your arms are coming out of the portal, and you place the portal on another wall, your arms will still be going through the portal as you never moved them, meaning them move with the portal.

At what speed the portal being launched/beam travels at? because its not light speed since its not instant and you can see the sphere move but it must be pretty fast since it only took a few secs to reach the moon.

Yes.

I changed my portal gun. I found the base one to be useless.

Unless I'm completely stupid, according to the time it took to reach the moon, the beam travels at two-fifths of the speed of light. That sure seems like a lot faster than it does when you normally fire, but I'll just assume that's from the launch speed and it actually goes extremely fast once shot out.

Maybe the speed the portal travels is at an exponential rate.
