Make website recognise game folder? Click game and nothing happens?
#1
Well since when trying to install the game I get the error 40 message EVERY TIME (on 3 different computers) I've had to resort to trying to run the game directly from the folder instead of installing it. Unfortunately, I can't get the website to acknowledge this game folder even with Nexon Game Manager installed. Is there a workaround for this? Copy dll files into a location?

Also, when I try to launch the game through the GameLauncher, the HShield runs successfully but then nothing happens. I've had this happen previously where I had the message "MapleStory has stopped working" but not this time. This time just nothing happens. Any ideas?

Having this same problem on my VMware w/W7 ultimate (gonna train me an HS mule Rolleyes)

I decided to download the client again from the website. I'll post when I get to test if it worked or not.

Idk but I hope all of your folders (ASPLauncher, GameLauncher, Maplestory, Patcher, Setup) are ticked off as "Run as Admin." I remember having a similar problem and needing to do that.

The Run as Admin issue is a permissions problem. There is a quick and easy fix for it. Open Control Panel, User Accounts, click Change User Access Control settings, and lower it to disabled, off, or never notify. Restart your PC afterwards and everything will run correctly. UAC places even an administrator account in a limited user mode when enabled. I recommend turning it off.

Since I haven't installed the game I don't have those registry files.

And as far as administration privileges go I have UAC turned off and all my .exe files in the folder ticked as Run as Admin, so I'm still stumped...

Bit more complicated, but nice try.

Try running CCleaner's Registry tool and see if it has any bad registry settings and have it remove them.
