"Display driver stopped responding and has recovered"
#1
I often get this when I am playing in windows mode and it is really starting to annoy the hell out of me, first my character won't respond for a second (as if I was lagging), then my entire screen will turn black for a couple seconds and it will appear again and I'll get this message.

My settings are all set to the lowest quality possible. I am usually running iTunes and have Firefox open but that's all in terms of other programs.

Information on my computer:
Gateway GT5654
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+ 2.60 GHz
3070Mb Memory
32-bit Operating System
NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS

I don't know much about the internal workings of computers so please excuse me if the solution to this problem is obvious =/.

Have you updated your graphics cards drivers?

Yeah, nvidia's vista drivers just suck like that for some people.

Try different drivers (Maybe 175.19?)

Actually, try the drivers from here
http://www.tweakforce.com/

I find these custom drivers very stable

No, I haven't updated my graphics cards drivers in a while.

I'll probably give that a try tomorrow.

Having it happen randomly during training is very aggravating.

EDIT:
Problem solved. Thank you everyone for posting Big Grin.
