The title probably makes no sense.
I'm 146 right now, just passed demo 20 and it's level 8. After demo i am probably going to max energy orb. What i want to know is the following:
1) At what level does demolition out damage barr + DS.
2) At what level does energy orb out damage energy blast.
3) At what level does energy orb out damage dragon strike. (i'm pretty sure it's 27+, but i'm just curious)
4) By how much DPS does max energy orb out damage max dragon strike? Expressed in % difference is fine.
Im pretty sure the first one is pretty much adding the dmg%s, cus barrage+ds is~same speed as a demo. As for the rest.. idk I have lvl 1 energy orb and it can do pretty close to energy blast dmg, it's just that the chain dmg makes he dps a lot lower, so it all depends on howmany you hit I guess.

According to the speed reference thread, barr + DS is in total 2580 ms, while demolition is 2340 ms, so 1 demolition is faster than 1 barr + DS.

Thanks guys.
1. Somewhere around after level 21 Demolition utterly destroys the single target DPS of Barrage and DS. I remembered saving a good minute at level 21 Demolition at Dodo compared to pure Barrage and DS, and obviously only gets better from there. I save ~2-3 minutes using Demolition at Dodo with max Demolition.
2. No idea. I haven't had a point in orb yet.
3. I think at level 21+
4. Not sure

Orb is stronger than Blast on 2 monsters at level 24 (1510% DPS)
Orb is stronger than Blast on 3 monsters at level 28 (2256% DPS)
Orb is never stronger than Blast on 4 monsters
Orb is stronger than Blast on 5 monsters at level 26 (2964% DPS)
Orb is stronger than Blast on 6 monsters at level 25 (2892% DPS)
disclaimer
Orb calculation was shortened to maintain simplicity. I know the real formula for 6 monsters would be
Orb (6) = (900+900*0.8+900*0.8^2+900*0.8^3+900*0.8^4+900*0.8^5)*1000/930
But that would be really annoying to read, wouldn't it?
Orb will never be stronger than DS on 4 or more monsters
Orb will only be stronger on 2-3 monsters if it's level 24 or higher
This is moot anyway since DS isn't spammable. You'd likely switch between them.

Aw, guess i'm maxing ST after demo since orb isn't as great as i thought.

Thanks a lot.
My thoughts exactly. Now that I just maxed Demolition today, I'm going to work on polishing off Super Transform and then do +2 orb, +1 Maple Hero every level or something like that. Or maybe +9 Maple Hero, then level 24 or so Orb, then 19 or maybe 29 Maple Hero. lol

I was thinking of doing snatch just now actually.
Can you imagine how sexy it would be at O4 (or in general) to just keep jump snatching backwards grabbing all the guardians and dragging them along?
Snatch doesn't do much for me. I don't really like it. When you use Snatch, about 90% of the time it brings the monsters too close and they run into you. Guardian Captains of Oblivion are the worst with it, too. Personally, I hate Snatch. lol

Yeah, i figured the pot burn would be immense. Oh well, never getting high enough to max it anyway.

On the other hand though, it's damage could possibly be almost doubling your killing speed 50% of the time. Well to be honest I don't really know what to think now that I made good upgrades. I can probably predict my buffed damage range to kick into the 7k range if I get to 168 and have level 19 MW. Oh the decisions. I'll probably just wait until 165 to decide what's better.
To go Rambo and crank up EXP/hour with Snatch 50% of my training time at the cost of getting hit more, or go the safer route getting MW and boost damage by 10%, 100% of the time. But yeah, if it doesn't reduce my number of hits needed to kill, then MW19 is useless. I'll just have to wait and see.
*Kaida. Typo on Dragon Strike. It's 810% a hit instead of 750%.

Oh whoops. Overlooked that. My bad.
*Oh if you really want to, can you help calculate damage per second with Snatch + Dragon Strike? Not sure if calculating the average critical damage will be a problem.
And as far as I know, Orb reduction is 2/3rds. It'd be pineappleing fantastic if it actually were 0.80 but we live in a world where Buccaneers suck aren't as great as other jobs at DPSing.

If by help you, you mean do it for you, then sure.
Snatch + DS = 750+1080 = 1830 ms
Without SE = (600+846)*1000/1830 = 790% per monster (790, 1580, 2370, 3160, 3950, 4740)
With SE = (600+960)*1000/1830 = 852% per monster (852, 1705, 2557, 3410, 4262, 5115)
This assumes DS un-stuns all the monsters it hits, which I think it does.

Oh it is? Blame Carlos, he told me 0.8. I knew it was made higher, but I wasn't sure to what.
Also... delay what? I don't understand. I was under the impression that the delay for Blast was removed entirely and the delays for the other skills were lowered enough for alternation to be very possible. Are you perhaps using the outdated delays on LazyBui's thread?

hey dont trow this at me, when you start talking numbers i say "yes yes alex" to everything and stop listening. blame god for making me allergic to numbers.
