What do YOU use for motivation for leveling?
#21
Skills~
and To experience every boss the game has to offer (which is why I am a Bishop)
Later on I wanna be able to 2 hit newts/skeles so I can lazily leech up a Corsair-
So I can have a macro that says,
IMMA ON A BOATMad

I just like grinding >_>

Finding the optimal path through a map helps spend the time I guess (only applicable to classes who have to run around when they train)

when I want to train a lot, I buy a 2x card. My motivation is not wasting the money I spent on the card.

Up til now, I was leveling to finish maxing zerk...
Before then, leveling for 4th job...
Before then, leveling for skills/equips

Now, with my only noteworthy 4th job skill finished, and no new equips to look forward to (B>Lv 130+ gear to be made)...idk, I only feel like leveling if Im having fun, which Im NOT at himes.

if you need to "motivate" yourself to do it, then don't train. grinding is not for you.

So why do you grind? That's your motivation, you know. If noone had motivation to grind, noone would.

currently i'm suiciding my priest for his horus eye so theres the motivation that as soon as i get it i'll be headed for 4th job to finally get gene to leech up the rest of my chars

My xbow? the love of strafe is want makes me want him 3rd job (3rd 3 jobber too)

my hermit? no motivation right now but once the raven's claws become cheaper his endgame equip will be my motivation

the rest of my chars are either storage mules, apq mules, or pq mules so those eith can't lvl or don't need it hence i never use em unless i have to

Goals are my motivation.

Current goals:
1) Get to 84 for 4 hit energy blast. (130% away D: )
2) Get to 90 for my sexy white fangz.
3) Get my chief bandit back.
4) Get one or both characters to 100+ so i can finally have a 3 digit character after 3 years of playing.

Normally i'd be competing with my classmates, but since i was introduced to the wonderful world of leech (Rolleyes) i'm now waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay past them.

As for now, at 111, i've stopped leeching - basically i cant find the time to do so, but i can train, for short times of about half an hour each time. Its slow, but the prospect of 4th Job in 9 LEVELS is too enticing. I've even prepared everything - 60m for the Job Advancement (who cares about Manon and Griffey, lol) and Silver Mane, BStep 20/30... The list goes on, but i'm just saying thats my motivation for now xD

<- Is not motivated in any way right now for any of my characters

Mainly because I don't play that mych anymore, my bf don't really play either...
Then most of my buddies are way higher level than I am.
I grind slowly, then see those levelling faster than you can say "crap" and nearly put in no time at all.
I give up =________=

I think "What do YOU use for motivation" is a really bad way of putting it then. It implies that you need some way to force yourself to do something you might not want to do otherwise.

I will post before I read any other reply, lol. My current motivations comes from my guild master, he reminds most of us that we need to get to 4th job as quickly as we can. Though he is not cruel, it keeps us working together for a common goal. Biggrin There are days when none of us in the guild feel very motivated, but usually someone will come up with some thing new and challenging for a group of us to try out. So, for me, being in a great guild makes all the difference. Heart

I remember when 4th was released it was impossible to find them because everyone was hunting for skills. However, I did kill them on my Buc Big Grin.

I woulda killed them if i could have soloed them on my (then) ranger.

If you don't have buddies to HB you, you really can't kill manon OR griffey for the job advancement =/

warriors, mages, pirates (both?), and theives (CB's only?) are the only ones who can try to job advance via killing. My ranger would have had to get past 12x in ranger form in order to be able to take a hit from them...Hothead
