What do YOU use for motivation for leveling?
#1
So, there's a lot of people out there who have given up on leveling. No matter how hard they try they never get back into the groove of leveling. Then, there's other people who always level, and almost never stop.

What do you guys use for motivation for leveling? Whether it be new skills, new job advancement, for the sake of gloating, it doesn't matter, just post how you motivate yourself to level.

Personally, I look forward to forth job, new skills, and I set a goal for myself on what percentage I'll reach each day.

Well it depends who you are :f6:
some people find training fun,
others do it just to brag or see how fast they can do it. Rolleyes

personally I'm gonna go slowly on my warrior taking time to FM and get the meso / equips i may need.
since im dexless warrior im looking for things that aren't exactly popular
i'm gonna need a 105+att soul spear and decent accuracy shoes / overall
and at some point i'll need to acquire a decent work glove 12-15att :f6:

i level for the skills. that's why lvls 110-119 seemed so slow to me: i was putting points in the skills i don't ever use! (meso explosion, pickpocket... endure..) (even though 110-119 is among the fastest i've lvled.)

yay 4th job, yay new attacks to level...

Everyone has a different motive. I level my Night Lord because:

-I want maxed Triple Throw by 130 (already passed TT30) ; So I can be a bossing-Night Lord.
-I want it to be my strongest character.
-Lastly, this is a strange reason, but I play for fun now.

Before Night Lord-hood, I used to gloat a lot about my gear, yada yada yada, I grinded 8 hours per day, blah blah blah. Got me nowhere. Now I rather play at a steady pace, even if people says I'm a slow grinder, I don't care.

I USED to think that the game would only get harder and less fun. Then I joined a private server and got to level 200 many times over, (1000x exp) and saw that the pure fun would make up for it. So then I leveled my weak warrior to 30, noticed warriors suck, leveled my mage to 30, realized mages rock, and WHOOSH im level 44 and 90%. Cool right? Tongue

I play whenever I'm bored. My last goal was to exchange 50 badges of each CWK monster at least once. Got the nightshadow ones, and well, I got 2.5 mil. :p But I got to level once, while at it, too.

I use bossing and PQs to *slowly* level up. If I have good time and I run out of things to do, then I start leveling xD

I play/level because a Brawler is a perfect balance for me:
-High HP
-Strong mobbing damage
-Respectable 1v1 damage
-Good avoid
-Takes skill to play
-Rewards the player for playing well instead of just being a mindless killing machine
-Decent ranged attacks and melee attacks

I level because I want to wear the White Marquini that's been sitting in my inventory for a good 15 levels. It's so sexy! That and watching fellow SPers' videos - they're so pro, and one day I wanna be pro like them tooooo! Pineapple

Also, my fiance told me that he'd start training with me again once I hit level 90 on my marauder and that he'd be my personal HB slave. (OK maybe he didn't exactly say that he'd be my personal HB slave, but I'm pretty sure that's what he meant.)

Once I hit 90, my next goal will probably be 110 for the pendant. After that, maybe 120 so I can have have two fourth jobbers, or maybe I'll go back to training my bowmaster. We shall see.

[edit:] tl;dr: sexy equips, and sexy skills

Always used to be to wear the next set of equipment... but I eventually ran out. And yes, I did wear every single set (including shoes and gloves) during my time on this character (excluding the lvl 60 gloves and the lvl 100 set since that was incomplete). Things were different then though, no one had funded alts, the training spots weren't 40+% per hour, etc.

Now more or less I'm just hunting random things to get the stuff I need to make the 110 set before the maker skill comes out and whenever that takes me to 70+% I start to grind to the next level.

And right at the moment, my motivation to level is so that I can afford to die a few times in the new PQ (doesn't use charms).

Eventually, it will be to play for the monster book with that same 70+% concept I mentioned earlier.

Training isn't a pain for me except when done in long 4 hour+ sessions. I don't really need motivation to level, I just do it whenever I have the time and nothing else more interesting to do.
